Who we are

Merchants Guild (merchantsguild.org) is a marketplace being set up for monasteries, parishes and Catholic artisans. You can contact us at merchantsguilds@gmail.com.

What the site is for, for now

The shop isn’t open yet. At the moment you can read about Merchants Guild, join the waitlist and apply to sell with us. Nothing on the site can be bought yet.

The objects shown on the site are museum pieces. They are examples of the kind of things our sellers make and are not for sale.

When the shop opens, buying will be covered by separate terms of sale. They will set out your rights, including returns and refunds.

Using the site fairly

Please don’t:

We may remove sign-ups or applications that break these rules.

Our words, name and pictures

The Merchants Guild name, logo and the writing on this site belong to us. You’re welcome to share links to the site. Please don’t copy our logo or text for your own use without asking first.

The paintings and objects pictured come from the open-access collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Cleveland Museum of Art, and are in the public domain.

Links to other websites

Where we link to other websites, we do so to be helpful. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for what they contain.

Accuracy and availability

We work hard to keep the site accurate and running smoothly. We can’t promise it will always be available or free from mistakes, and we may change or pause parts of it while we build the shop.

Our responsibility to you

The site is free to use, so we aren’t responsible for any loss that comes from using it or not being able to use it, as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the shop opens. We’ll change the date at the top when we do. Please check back now and then.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
